~ My Story ~
It started with bedtime.
One night in 2014, my children ran out of stories to read. So my son, ten at the time, began writing one for his younger sister. Bedtime arrived before he could finish, and they begged me to complete it.
When I read his words, I was stopped in my tracks. The imagination. The wonder. And a quiet question: had I lost all of that somewhere along the way?
So I sat down and wrote. Night after night, one story became a book. That book became a self-publishing adventure. And eventually, it became Orla Kelly Publishing.
Along the way, I learned how exposed publishing can make you feel. I waited a long time before telling anyone what I was doing. That experience shapes everything I do now.
I work with the person, not the book. The book is simply the result of the relationship we build together.
